PDMOVIE Live Air 4 Smart

PDMOVIE LIVE AIR 4 SMART is a compact wireless follow focus system that combines traditional manual focusing with something that is often missing on smaller sets: reliable LiDAR autofocus driven through a follow focus motor. In practice, this means that even with manual lenses, you can achieve an AF-like workflow — especially on a gimbal, handheld, or in run-and-gun situations where there is no time to keep pulling focus manually.

The system uses hybrid LiDAR (zoom) modes for different focal lengths — a wider scanning area for close to mid-range distances, and narrower, more precise scanning for longer focal lengths and more distant subjects. Thanks to this, the focusing system is usable across typical production setups, rather than being limited to a single specific lens.

Indoors, the autofocus range is stated to be up to approximately 20 m (with “virtual” extension in specific modes). Outdoors, even in bright sunlight, it typically reaches up to around 15 m depending on the selected mode and shooting conditions.
