Eizo ColorEdge CG248-4K

The ColorEdge CG248 from EIZO is a 23.8″ IPS monitor that features a built-in color sensor for automatic calibration and to ensure the monitor maintains your settings. This sensor eliminates the need for an external calibration device and works with EIZO’s ColorNavigator 6 and ColorNavigator NX software. With ColorNavigator Network software, an administrator can centralize the management of all CG248-4K monitors and other ColorEdge monitors on the network. For example, the administrator can perform self-calibration, set color modes, register or edit asset management settings, and other tasks whether the monitors are local or remote.

The monitor reproduces 99% of the Adobe RGB color space and 98% of the DCI-P3 standard used in digital cinema. It also offers preset modes for EBU, Rec. 709 and SMPTE-C. These preset modes can be easily switched using a button on the front of the monitor, ensuring that the display is always set to suit the content displayed on the screen. With the built-in calibration sensor, you can adjust or maintain the brightness settings for each preset mode. In addition, the display offers a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, allowing you to display true blacks that are difficult to see on a typical LCD monitor. Even when viewing the screen at an angle in a dark studio, dark tones retain their depth. You can also prefer high brightness and contrast ratio over uniformity of screen brightness by pressing a button on the front of the monitor.

The ColorEdge CG248 offers a resolution of 3840 x 2160, surpassing the clarity offered by Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. It also offers a 14ms response time, 350 cd/m² brightness and support for up to 1.07 billion colours. DisplayPort and HDMI inputs make it compatible with a variety of computer configurations, so whether you mount this VESA-compatible monitor on a wall or view it from a stand, you can see the display from almost any angle thanks to support for 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles. With a single cable, DCI 4K resolution at 60Hz is supported by both DisplayPort 1.2 inputs and at 30Hz by both HDMI inputs.

Variations in brightness and chromatic properties on different parts of the screen are common with LCD monitors. To compensate, the ColorEdge CG248 features EIZO’s Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) technology, which provides a Delta-E difference of 3 or less across the screen. DUE also compensates for the effects that fluctuating temperature can have on color temperature and brightness. Within just 3 minutes of turning on the monitor, the brightness, chromaticity and tonal characteristics will stabilize and be ready for use. The CG248 also comes with an aperture that surrounds the top and left and right sides to prevent ambient light from reflecting off the screen.
