Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM is a professional full-frame L-series zoom and one of the most versatile lenses available for the Canon EF system. Its 24–70mm focal range covers wide shots, natural standard perspectives and short telephoto framing, while the constant f/2.8 aperture remains available throughout the entire zoom range.

The optical design consists of 18 elements in 13 groups, including one Super UD and two UD elements designed to reduce chromatic aberration. Aspherical elements and optimized lens coatings further help control optical aberrations, ghosting and flare. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces smooth and natural out-of-focus rendering.

Focusing is driven by a ring-type USM motor, providing fast and quiet autofocus together with full-time manual focus override. Internal focusing means the front element does not rotate during focusing, which is particularly useful when working with polarizers or variable ND filters. Minimum focusing distance is 0.38 m / 1.25 ft.

The professional L-series construction features improved resistance to dust and moisture, while fluorine coatings on the front and rear lens surfaces make fingerprints and dirt easier to remove. An integrated zoom lock secures the lens at the 24mm position during transport.

Thanks to its Canon EF mount, the lens can be used directly on EF-mount cameras and DSLRs, as well as on a wide range of cinema and mirrorless cameras via an appropriate EF adapter. Its combination of wide-angle and short-telephoto coverage makes it a practical single-lens solution for productions that need to work quickly without constantly changing lenses.

The lens does not feature optical image stabilization.
