ALEXA Mini – the proven S35 standard

The ARRI ALEXA Mini body weighs only ~2.3 kg, but offers a Super 35 ALEV III sensor, 14+ EV of dynamic range and up to 200 fps in both ARRIRAW and ProRes – all licenses are already active.

Cinema-quality spherical glass

The package adds a 10-piece set of DZOFILM Vespid Prime (PL). The lenses cover 12/16/21/25/35/40/50/75/100/125mm focal lengths with T2.1 aperture (T2.8 at 12 & 16mm) and a single 77mm filter thread and 0.8 MOD cogs for quick changes. Each weighs approx. 0.8-1.0 kg, so they remain gimbal-friendly.

Advantages in practice

  • Data comfort – 1.5 TB CFast can handle ~3 h ProRes HQ 3.2K or ~90 min ARRIRAW 2.8K at 24 fps, so less dump on set.

  • Power for the day – six V150s (143 Wh) cover ~8 h of camera + accessory operation; the VAS2 charges two batteries simultaneously and doubles as an XLR power supply.

  • Uniform gear pitch and 77mm Ø front on all Vespids speeds up lens changes and minimizes FF and matte-box re-rigging.

  • Low overall T (≤ 7 kg without glasses) keeps the setup within the limits of Ronin 2, Movi Pro and drones < 25 kg without sacrificing cinema features.

Who is the kit for?

Commercial, documentary and feature productions that want the “signature” ARRI image + full-frame-ready glass without the price jump of master primes. The spherical kit gives maximum flexibility: from ultra-wide 12mm to portrait 125mm, it will cover most daytime situations without the need for anamorphic optics.
